For the first time, these figures include three runs per question and the fully read lists of AI Overviews (see methodology below). The figures of the August to October editions stay as they were published. The recommendations still go to a few names. What that means for a firm that is mentioned but not recommended is set out in AI mentions or recommends your company.
What is new in the November 2026 edition
Wealth managers (wealth management, financial planning, pensions and retirement) have been added as an industry for Zurich and Zug, industrial suppliers (CNC machining, sheet metal working, plastic injection moulding) for all of Switzerland, both after a passed test run and with all six assistants. Industrial suppliers are the index’s first industrial chapter. Real estate is now also measured on sales and brokerage.
The question catalogue is at version 1.10 with 576 buyer questions, 24 per ranking. Collection ran from 28 October to 1 November 2026, with 14,063 counted answers. The index now also asks up to three bonus questions per service from reader suggestions, outside the recommendation rate; in November, three questions on cloud and migration.
What changed in the methodology
- Three runs per question. Every question is asked three times, on three days, each time in a new session without history.
- AI Overviews read in full. The lists in Google AI Overviews answers count since this edition; until October, the recommendation rates of AI Overviews were too low as a result.
- Index closed to AI assistants. Since 1 November 2026, AI assistants may no longer read the index’s pages. The index is meant to measure what the assistants recommend, not to shape their answers.
- LinkedIn posts are an own source. An answer that cites a LinkedIn post or the LinkedIn profile of the publisher does not count, like an answer that cites the index.
- Stock refusals do not count. When Gemini answers only with a stock refusal, the question is asked again; the 96 stock refusals of the November wave do not count.
- Fixed profile addresses. Every firm profile now lives under /firma/…; the previous addresses redirect.
Corrections in this edition: 2. The full change log and the methodology are in the index (in German).
Next edition
The next edition appears in early December 2026. How the index is built and what it measures is summarised on the page Swiss AI Recommendation Index. Whether your own company is recommended is shown by the firm search in the index; an analysis of your website comes with the free AI recommendation audit.
